May 22: Let’s take prayer to the streets

Those of you who are familiar with our ministry know that around this time of year, we invite fellow Christians to walk the streets of our work neighbourhoods in prayer. Again, with hearts united in Christ by His Spirit, we call everyone to a prayer walk exercise on May 22, anytime between 12 and 2 pm.

We begin by asking the Holy Spirit to prepare our hearts for the prayer walk. Listen for the Spirit who will help plan and direct our steps.

Pray for guidance on who to walk with, and then invite the person(s) to join you. Talk about your walking route—areas of your work neighbourhood that you plan to cover, and what to pray for.

In the days ahead, let us ask the Lord to open our minds and hearts to the realities around us. What is the Lord calling us to do in our particular place of service and surrounding community?

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him” (1 John 5:14-15).

Help spread the word about this prayer walk to lift up our work neighbourhoods and cities, all workers including those in positions of authority, the weak and marginalized. Through this form of intercessory prayer, may our hearts be one in seeking the Lord’s good purpose for our neighbourhoods–justice, peace, prosperity, protection from evil and the strengthening of His church.

We will post Scripture-inspired guidelines on prayer walking soon. If you have questions, please write to us at We’d love to hear from you.
